Digital divide
I could continue showing information about this but it would be too long, e-commerce is a topic that I find very interesting, it gives us the opportunity to choose from thousands of products from different parts of the world, which I find very positive. INEGI statistics show the growth that this type of commerce has had in the last years but, with the pandemic, it has been extraordinary the amount of internet businesses that have been created and that have given the opportunity to many people to become their own bosses and have an extra income, however, I think that the amounts are even bigger than the ones shown in the INEGI platform because most of these new businesses are not registered so we could not have an exact amount of the gross value that they generate in the country.
However, looking for more information on how this e-commerce has affected the country, I realized that this development of new technologies is not entirely positive. The fact that e-commerce is growing also means that local commerce is declining (if a person can shop from home then the local store close to home is going to lose customers). For example, it is estimated that about 70% of a household's products come from large stores and e-commerce nowadays. So many local businesses have been forced to adapt to the needs of "modern customers" and new technologies to survive and join the growth rates of e-business.
